Liquid Therapy is committed to the highest standards of Governance. We became a registered Charity in 2021, and are fully compliant with the Charities Regulatory Authority Governance Code. In addition, Liquid Therapy is an affiliated Surf Club and is regulated by Irish Surfing, Ireland’s governing body for surfing.
2022 Annual Report
Since 2011 Liquid Therapy has evolved from a small, community based, volunteer run group to a registered charity with a national remit. Now, Liquid Therapy operates as a registered charity with a core team of staff who enable Liquid Therapy to provide a more structured and organised programme of activities for participants. In 2021 we worked with 196 surfers and provided 915 individual water sessions with funding from 6 different organisations, across the Northwest of Ireland.
2022-2024 Strategic Plan
The Liquid Therapy strategic plan 2022-2024 was completed with the support of an external consultant during 2021. As part of this process we conducted a market analysis and consultation with key stakeholders. This included the families who benefit from our programmes, our Board of Directors and other key stakeholders, as well as examining key national policy documents and academic research.
Child Protection Policy
Keeping our participants safe is our top priority. Our Child Protection Policy governs how we protect young people and vulnerable adults from harm. It establishes the measures we put in place in order to achieve this, such as; Garda Vetting, our recruitment processes, how we use social media, how we deal with bullying, etc. It also outlines the process for dealing with any child protection concerns or disclosures.
Liquid Therapy is committed to protecting and respecting the privacy of staff, volunteers, participants and contractors. Our Data Protection Policy sets out the privacy rights of those we engage with and sets out how we collect, use, process and disclose personal data relating to their interactions with us. Liquid Therapy adheres to the National Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) principles that must be followed when processing personal data.
Volunteers are the heart of Liquid Therapy and the journey that has got us to where we are today. Our Volunteer Policy outlines both how we work with volunteers and how we recruit, manage and support volunteers. It also outlines measures we put in place to ensure fairness, good practice and satisfactory experiences for both our participants and our volunteers.
Liquid Therapy is committed to using photography in a safe and ethical manner and in using photography and other visual mediums to showcase our work and share our journey. Our photography policy provides guidance on how and when we use images and put suitable safeguards in place to protect our surfers. Permission will always be requested prior to use of images.
